Person number 1 did not provide any numbers which renders her story bit vague. Give us the numbers. How much capital did she accumulate etc.
Yep I’m 59 and been divorced twice, just let’s say it’s cost me a large 6 figure sum – luckily I’ve still done well financially, but yes I don’t recommend it for your finances.

Loved this video and hearing about the 2 people who have made it to financial freedom, well done to you both. Lol at the end made me laugh too. I am in the process of selling my property and moving half hour outside London. Once I have done that, I will continue to the next stage of becoming financial freedom before I get to retirement age.
Yes plugging the hole once you no longer work those 40 hours per week is the big one I always focus on, especially as I am someone who likes being productive. Also planning for financial uncertainties too as none of know what the future holds. Thanks for sharing.
The lesson is surely we can all have FI, it's about the "choice" of Fi you want- at the one end living a nomad or very very basic existence (in a cheap location even country, etc) to the other, owning a "big" house or houses cars, boat, planes, holidays, expensive clothes and "stuff" and so on…most of this in life is actually just about upscaling; as Steve Jobs said I am just as drunk after drinking a $300 bottle of wine as I am after a $5 bottle! and a £5 watch tells the same time as £50k one- most of the time!
